Hot Wheels the MVP of toys

Hands down the MVP of toys in our house is our bin of second hand hot wheels Or as S+C call them “beep, beeps”. These cars have been going strong as the fave for over a year.

For this activity, I decided to document their positioning schema. This means their little brains are telling them to line things up. It’s fun to watch them do this, plus it’s going to make a cool pic to frame in their room.

They love shooting their cars down any ramp or tube. This is a great opportunity for them to express the trajectory schema, or that urge to set things in motion.

These rainbow tunnels were a BIG hit and super simple to make. I taped together plastic page dividers, attached them to a piece of cardboard, and formed a couple of tunnels. We propped up one end and just like that, endless entertainment for our hot wheel enthusiasts!
This is cardboard garage with ramps was a BIG hit!

Large tubing from Home Depot makes a super fun and fast ramp. I will find them rapid-fire shooting car after car down these tubes and they are almost in a trance. The sensation they get from setting their cars in motion is what thrills them and always brings them back for more.

Do your kids love hot wheels as much as Stevie and Celeste? Give these ramps a try and share with me if you do! I can’t wait to see what you create.
